seeing the specialist today was pretty awesome. her kidneys look completely fine, and the scar tissue or whatever it was is now just like a minor wrinkle and will almost definitely go away even more as my uterus grows. woohoo!

i soooo do not feel like blogging. i dont know why. maybe i'll make a list of pregnancy woes.
-leg/feet cramps that wake me up in the middle of the night. sometimes in both legs at once.
-baby continuously kicking my bladder, and everything else.
-muscles i didnt even know i had in my groin area being painfully sore. wanna roll over? ouch. wanna move my leg? ouch. wanna do anything? yeah, ouch.
-heartburn! got it for the first time the other night, thought i was gonna die.
-having to pee alllll the time.
-my boobs are bigger. quit looking!

ok thats not very many things, im probably forgetting a bunch. or im just a wuss.

appointment with the specialist got pushed up to tomorrow, so im pretty excited about that. another ultrasound plus hopefully some answers is definitely something to look forward to. oh and i get to leave work at 11 :]

yesterday at my doctors appointment i found out that there may be some complications with the babys kidneys as well as my uterus. grrrrreat. apparently during the ultrasound 2 weeks ago they discovered that her kidneys may be partially obstructed. what that exactly means, im not sure. i looked up some things online and it seems that it may mean there is a narrowing or a kink in the area that drains urine from her kidneys. my doctor said they couldnt tell for sure, and that shes not worried and i shouldnt either. how do i not worry? she said it looked borderline, that there was just a chance the kidneys were obstructed and that if they are, it often 'clears itself up' by the time i deliver. either way, i have an appointment to see a specialist to do another ultrasound on may 22nd. and then, my uterus...apparently i have a band of scar tissue. normally that would mean that its very difficult to get pregnant, obviously i did. then, i guess depending on how its attatched and where, to my uterus it can prevent the uterus from growing and stretching to accomodate the baby. because im already 20.5 weeks and havent had any problems it seems it hasnt done any of that, so thats really good news. but it does mean that i now have a slightly higher risk of needing a c-section to deliver.
ive gained 7lbs in the past month, but because i lost so much weight from being sick in the begining its only a total of 3lbs weight gain for the entire pregnancy but my doctor said that its perfect and everything looks fine. the hearbeat is fine, i feel her moving around a lot, all the other organs and growth rates looked normal.

i know this isnt the worst news i could have gotten back so im trying not to stress over it too much, im sure everything will work out fine in the end.

i can see her(i still feel really weird saying 'her'. i usually say 'it') moving around. little punches and kicks maybe? its kind of neat but now i feel sorta guilty like everytime i feel it i should stop what im doing and look at my stomach, haha.
other updates, now when i lay on my back you can still tell i have a belly. before it pretty much disappeared and looked like a regular stomach. took these pictures a couple days ago. im half way there...

ohhh and went to the beach last weekend after we signed a 6 month lease on this studio by the beach. we have our own walled/fenced in grassy yard with a little covered lanai :] move in on the 2nd i think.

soooo i had my ultrasound today. during the half an hour or so we got to see like every single detail of the baby. 4 chambers of the heart, kidneys, bladder, stomach, arm and leg bones, spine, brain, probably more lol. and its a girl :]
oh and based on her size, the due date has been changed from september 13th to the 10th. we'll see when she feels like coming out though.

last night i decided i wanted to do something outdoors and active today. although i couldnt get keli out of bed till a little after 1pm i decided i wanted to go to temple valley and see the temple. i had only been as a child so it was kind of like going for the first time. there were way too many people there. a tour bus actually came while we were there. dont like that.anyway, picture time.

amida, a golden buddha unique to the entire world. at over 18 feet tall its thought to be the largest figure carved since ancient times. you gotta take your shoes off before you come in...that i like.

summary of doctor appointment on tuesday? im losing weight and most likely malnourished. baby is doing fine and the heartbeat was very loud and strong at 140 beats per minute. the big fail was that i didnt get an ultrasound so i still dont know if this little bastard is a boy or girl. ive got an ultrasound scheduled for the 13th at castle hospital. can i wait another week and half to find out the gender? not really but i guess thats what im doing.
i dont know what came over me yesterday but i ordered one of those at home doppler machines so i can hear the babies heartbeat whenever i damn please. a waste of $50ish dollars? probably. on the bright side, i can apparently upload the audio of the heartbeat to the computer so i shall post that at some point in the near future.

i have NEVER been a fan of weddings. i avoid them at all costs. in fact, i havent been to one ever, not even my close family weddings. ok thats a lie, when i was maybe 2 years old me and a friend were flower girls in someones wedding. apparently i was not a happy camper. so yes, i dont like weddings. i dont want to have one. i dont care if i get legally married or not but i definitely dont want/need a ceremony. i dont feel the need to share something like that with anyone other than my partner. buuuuut, seeing these pictures on another blog has got me reconsidering all that. i still dont think i'd like a wedding or feel comfortable having one but how beautiful and simple is this one?! im dying over the grass and trees, the potluck and the paper cranes. maybe i'll just decorate my future backyard like this year round.

maybe once a month im able to write. other times nothing comes to me. i feel like a moron.
im still sick everyday. im getting pretty convinced im carrying a little devil baby, horns and all. which josh just pointed out to me will hurt the bitchload to deliver. great. anyway i finally caved in and called the doctor this morning so they could call in a prescription for some anti-nausea medication. i guess insurances dont like to cover this particular one so it may cost me the assfuck. theres another brand or something they can prescribe that will be covered by insurance but its not recommended as much? dunno that i really want to take it so we'll see.
yesterday was one of those days were i felt thisclose to barfing the entire day. only puked a total of 5 or 6 times but that meant i basically couldnt keep anything down. not a pretzel and a juice box, not a fruit popsicle, not one waffle with syrup. apparently if i have a few more days like that the doctor said i'll have to go to the emergency room and get an iv. which just costs more money but hey at least i'll be able to skip work!

in other news, led zeppelin is currently playing on the ipod. me and the boy are house/cat/fish-sitting for a week, maybe two. its sorta like staying in a hotel, even though ive housesat at this particular place before. theres even a pool but its way to cold to consider going in. we even went food shopping together for the first time. i like doing things like that and having my own little home...only a few more months hopefully till we get our own place. i belong on my own, not living with someones family. ok enough blah blah blah-ing for now.

heres the last ultrasound pictures i got though. they are really pretty terrible. there was a doctor in training (or something) in the office with me and the doctor and actually, this new doctor lady did everything. she couldnt find the babies heartbeat so she did an ultrasound to make sure the baby was actually still there. it was, i saw its heart beating. she was really no good at all at doing the ultrasound. she couldnt get a steady image of it but the few seconds that she did, i saw its little arms waving around. because ive been so nauseous but didnt want to get a prescription for it they scheduled me to come back in two weeks, i guess to check up on me, make sure it wasnt getting worse or that i was loosing too much weight or anything. so this coming tuesday i go in again. im seeing my regular doctor this time so im pretty sure i'll be able to hear the heartbeat this time. a new picture would be nice too but we'll see.

since ive seemingly lost my blogging desires but at the same time dont want to abandon this thing altogether i thought well..mahzwell turn this badboy into a pregnancy blog of sorts. so as long as my interest holds i'll be updating this site with everything and anything relating to the little thing growing in my uterus. you all already got the big announcement of my pregnancy so i suppose the next logical post would be to update you on the happenings since then. as of today, i am 10 weeks along. ive been sick. super sick. barfing like a fucking barf-face. ive also lost at least 2lbs. my boobs have yet to really show any signs of growing except for the week or so when they were more sore than you could imagine. i had my first doctors appointment about 2 weeks ago and got my first picture of the baby.

this coming tuesday i'll have another doctor appointment where i'll be able to hear its heartbeat for the first time, and i'll most likely come home with another ultrasound picture. baby is looking a lot more like a baby these days from what ive been reading so we'll see how the next picture turns out. oh! ive also started taking some belly photos. this first one was taken at 5 weeks, right around the time i found out i was pregnant.

and this next one was taken today. it sort of looks like im already showing but let me just tell you...that burrito i ate yesterday has done some damage. being pregnant means my digestion has slowed and all my muscles are a lot more relaxed than usual. that bulge is full of burrito, valentines day candies, and even a krispy kreme donut. not much baby.

maybe i should start taking some from this side so i can document the changes in my tattoo? im thinking (and hoping) that it wont be affected too much.

i ordered a baby book last week..i know its a little early but fuck it. i wanted somewhere to keep the ultrasound pictures and stuff. its yellow and green and has baby animals and kites and balloons and it is super cute.

calla and sadie are back for a month and im going to be watching them 2 days a week for a few weeks and then for the whole weekend at the end of january while britt goes to the big island or somewhere with her friends. i cant believe how long its been since ive seen them. and they are fucking cuter than ever! i was kind of worried that they'd be nervous around me at first but not at all. all day i was hearing 'i love you danny lissa' and 'danny lissa i missed you so much when we were in nevada'. awwww so so cute.

unfortunately my battery was pretty much dead so the only other pictures i got of them were them playing jack in the box. they take turns taping each other into this box and then sorta pop out and say 'jack in the box'. only they say it with like no exclamation point at the end, totally dead-pan. its hilariously cute.

on the bright side, i will be seeing them a lot this month so i'll be able to get pictures of all their princess games, bike riding, and locking each other in/out of bedrooms. yay!

i think this is our little weekend ritual. we get up sometime after 2 or 3, roll a couple joints, grab my camera, and head down to the river. sometimes the bb gun comes along.
keli is on a tadpole kick right now so we got about 9 more today. i dont know if it was the weed or what but i was in heaven down there. it is so pretty. so many chill spots. i kept thinking about fern gully. i wanted to be tiny and skip across the water, flutter around in the leaves. i wanted to be a fish. i was christa for halloween one year...good times. anyways...here are the pictures :]

new years eve recap

i hate holidays. i just dont like them. clearly they are unavoidable. although some are easier to avoid than others, new years eve is not one of those. people have been setting off fireworks for awhile now, probably about two weeks. gearing up for the big day i guess.
of course as soon as i start recording they stop, but these booming fireworks had been going off for about 5 minutes already. they reverbrate all up and down the mountains...it sounds so trippy in real life.

oh and now that i think about it, that video was taken the day before, on december 30th. moving along...me, kel, and his friend went down to the river on new years eve evening. its so crazily pretty down there. i took a couple polaroids, kels friend shot at some tadpoles, and keli caught some. apparently we are now raising 5 little tadpoles.

we came back up to the house, set off a couple fireworks in the backyard and hit up the gravity bong. btw, i officially dislike it. burns my throat and tastes nasty. yeckk.

so yesterday i got the sudden craft urge. like, i literally jumped in my car and drove to elakes just to hit up ben franklin. i love that place. sometimes i wish i could live in there. since kelis birthday is so close to christmas, and im not a very good gift-giver, i decided i'd make a half ass gift for him. behold, yet another stash jar. ok so the two other jars he has arent really his. both are from beau and one has already been given to bryson so yeah, this isnt the worst gift possible or anything. i filled it with six packs of rolling papers. you really cant ever have too many.

to make this, i shredded tissue paper and then gently painted over the tissue paper with a water/glue mixture i had made. i made a rough cut out of a marijuana leaf to use as a window. love seeing buds inside :]

okayyyyy lets see, its saturday today. dinner with the fam on christmas eve went well although i basically went all the way out there to eat french fries. christmas morning was good, i got a dustbuster! woohoo! no seriously, it was on my xmas list. went back to kelis and spent the rest of the day/night there. everyone came over in the evening and played the new wii. end scene. friday, i didnt have to work! awesome. slept in a bit a little before 6 me and kel decided to go to the mall to get a soft pretzel, or actually a hot dog on a stick. anyway, its all stormy and shit, were driving around trying to find parking. were under the parking structure thing and all the lights go out. and the radio in the car. ok, powers out. it is hard as fuck to drive in pitch black with the assfuck of people milling about, btw. on the way home we stop at jack in the box because we are still basically starving. we are next in line at the drive thru and guess what? power goes out. like, all of kaneohe. go home, have blackout party. no not really we just slept and smoked and did some of the '420 things to do while youre stoned' from The Official High Times Pot Smoker's Handbook, that i bought keli for christmas. woke up early today due to early bedtime the night before. me and kel went down to the river to smoke a bowl and check things out.
