bear with me...

since ive seemingly lost my blogging desires but at the same time dont want to abandon this thing altogether i thought well..mahzwell turn this badboy into a pregnancy blog of sorts. so as long as my interest holds i'll be updating this site with everything and anything relating to the little thing growing in my uterus. you all already got the big announcement of my pregnancy so i suppose the next logical post would be to update you on the happenings since then. as of today, i am 10 weeks along. ive been sick. super sick. barfing like a fucking barf-face. ive also lost at least 2lbs. my boobs have yet to really show any signs of growing except for the week or so when they were more sore than you could imagine. i had my first doctors appointment about 2 weeks ago and got my first picture of the baby.

this coming tuesday i'll have another doctor appointment where i'll be able to hear its heartbeat for the first time, and i'll most likely come home with another ultrasound picture. baby is looking a lot more like a baby these days from what ive been reading so we'll see how the next picture turns out. oh! ive also started taking some belly photos. this first one was taken at 5 weeks, right around the time i found out i was pregnant.

and this next one was taken today. it sort of looks like im already showing but let me just tell you...that burrito i ate yesterday has done some damage. being pregnant means my digestion has slowed and all my muscles are a lot more relaxed than usual. that bulge is full of burrito, valentines day candies, and even a krispy kreme donut. not much baby.

maybe i should start taking some from this side so i can document the changes in my tattoo? im thinking (and hoping) that it wont be affected too much.

i ordered a baby book last week..i know its a little early but fuck it. i wanted somewhere to keep the ultrasound pictures and stuff. its yellow and green and has baby animals and kites and balloons and it is super cute.
that is all the updates i have for now...

  1. That's awesome. I just posted a couple of important links to Twitter. The first is information on treating morning sickness vomiting with medical marijuana. In case you're concerned of the risk, there was a study done in Jamaica where, as you know, heavy cannabis use among the population is culturally accepted. Cannabis has no affect on the development on the fetus. In fact, the cannabis babies actually scored higher on their evaluations although the difference was attributed to the social status of the mothers.

Medical marijuana is extremely effective at treating hyperemesis, severe morning sickness. http://tr.im/g7am

Heavy marijuana use by pregnant women does not adversely affect their babies. 1994 AAP study: http://tr.im/eld7

  2. It DOES look like you're showing! That's crazy!

And in NO way is it too early to have a baby book! Maybe you should look into getting one just to document your pregnancy? I also suggest, If you can, to try to duplicate the baby book. When I was younger, I used to try to take mine from my mom all the time, but I have since let her keep it. I know she wants it just as much as I do.

And in regards to the other comment, I wouldn't shun anyone who decided to smoke during their pregnancy, but I definitely wouldn't catch myself being a HEAVY marijuana user. Babies inherit addictions that their mothers have had while in the womb, so while it may not HURT the baby, it might make the baby reliant on the cannabis, or it could have mental effects as well.

I suggest doing a lot of reading up on the whole situation before committing to either side. In this day and age, you can find anything on the internet to support what you think, so just keep in mind that you will always find a website that tells you its okay to smoke heavily while pregnant, as well as you will always find one that says you'll harm the baby if you smoke while pregnant. Only you can decide how you feel on this topic, however. A woman's instincts are always right, so follow your gut.

And on that topic, before you found out you were pregnant, I bet you just KNEW, right?

  7. awe =( I can only imagine how stressful it must be to feel sick all the time. At least it wont last the entire pregnancy!

Yeah, I hear you with the moving thing. I just moved in september to my boyfriends place, then on the first of february we had to move again. It was obnoxious, but we are finally almost unpacked, just a few more boxes!
